Committee Application Positions

SEMSA is a multidisciplinary health students network aimed at facilitating education, career development, research and health promotion to university students and recent graduates. During the current application period, all positions will be available as per the constitution. Applications close on 30th September 2018. President

Responsibilities

  • Oversee development and expansion of SEMSA to students and recent graduates;
  • Act as the primary liaison with major stakeholders (eg: Australasian College of Sport and Exercise Physicians, Sports Medicine Australia)
  • Liaise with state chairs regarding local events


Vice Presidents/State Chairs

Responsibilities

  • Oversee state committees and organise local state-run events
  • Liaison between subcommittees and National executive
  • Liaise with local University Societies and professional Allied Health Organisations to facilitate SEMSA exposure

 

Secretary

Responsibilities

  • Coordination of membership list and email database
  • Organisation of meetings, agenda, minutes  
  • General organisational support for committee


Treasurer

Responsibilities

  • Oversee financial position for SEMSA
  • Works closely with sponsorship officer to ensure SEMSA is financially self-sufficient
  • Coordination of Qpay platform for ticketing sales

 

Sponsorship Officer

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the maintenance and expansion of the SEMSA sponsors – eg: contact a range of potential sponsors for 2017 onwards, aligning with the already established sponsors from 2018
  • Produce a SEMSA Sponsorship Prospectus to be sent out in early January 2019, and coordinate the deliverables, timeframes and payments from sponsors
  • Act as the primary liaison between SEMSA and key sponsors – eg: ensuring that all payments are made on time, developing new sponsorship agreements, fostering existing sponsor relationships
  • Coordinate sponsor engagement and deliverables – eg: organising sponsorship stalls at events, on social media, in e-bulletin etc
  • Work alongside the Treasurer to ensure the financial sustainability of SEMSA

 

Social Media Officer

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all social media channels to promote SEMSA Events – eg: Conference, local events.
  • Maintain the Committee’s social media channels with relevant, up-to-date literature, news articles or content of interest to members (including retweeting, sharing articles etc.)
  • Promote SEMSA, its activities, events and campaigns through social media, printed media, and other platforms as appropriate;

 

IT/Promotions Officer:

Responsibilities*

  • Design and produce promotional material for SEMSA Committee (eg: infographics and event marketing publications)
  • Maintain the Committee’s website with relevant, up-to-date literature, news articles or content of interest to members (including retweeting, sharing articles etc.)
  • Liaise with other SEMSA portfolios to develop ways to increase exposure and reach of portfolio activities e.g. events and research opportunities;
  • Oversee development, expansion and maintenance of SEMSA;

*applicants to the position of Promotions officer need to demonstrate previous experience in a similar role, or capability with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator or equivalent image/video production software.

 

SEM19 Coordinator

Responsibilities

  • Oversee development and expansion of SEMSA National conference
  • Act as the primary liaison with speakers and venues to coordinate conference program.
  • Liaise with the University Societies and professional organisations to facilitate SEMSA exposure and promote conference

 

Allied Health Officer

Responsibilities

  • Oversee development and expansion of SEMSA to Allied Health students and recent graduates;
  • Act as the primary liaison with allied health stakeholders (eg: Australian Physiotherapy Association, Exercise and Sports Science Australia, Victorian Institute of Sport, Sports Medicine Australia)
  • Liaise with the University Societies and professional Allied Health Organisations to facilitate SEMSA exposure to Allied Health disciplines (eg: physiotherapy, nutrition, podiatry);
  • Promote SEMSA, its activities, events and campaigns to both Allied Health students and recent graduates;
